project life 2015 | week one

Hello 2015!!!

There is something about the start of a new year that I beginnings, starting fresh, it!

That first day I struggle to find my groove again. Not sure why that is, since I've been doing this for so many years, it should just come naturally. But for some reason on January 1, I find myself rethinking what I've always done and wondering if it's what I want to continue to do and asking myself if I should change things up! I usually don't change a thing and just jump right back into the groove.

There is one thing I "think" I'll change this year and that's my template. I have been using the Project Life templates since 2012 and even though I still love them, I have been admiring the square corners more than the rounded corners. So what's a girl to do? Create my own! I just used the rectangle shape tool in Photoshop Elements and created my own. It really is super easy! For now, I've just created a version to mimic the Project Life Template A. I haven't decided if I'll stick with it, but I have to be honest, I am really loving this small change! You tell me...square or rounded corners? What do you prefer?

Besides the template change, I am keeping everything else about my process the same. Like in the past, I'll be including lots of everyday photos and the stories behind the photos, along with using varied Project Life editions, theme kits and mini kits to pretty up my pages. To start off the new year, I decided to use the Project Life | Project 52 edition for my week one.

And here's how my week one of 2015 turned out....

The photo of my girls with their Happy New Year hats was actually taken on New Years eve, but I loved it so much that I wanted to include it here too. The twenty fifteen card is from Paislee Press

We had a green Christmas, which hasn't happened for us since 2006! It felt odd not having snow, but at the same time, it was great for traveling. Then it finally snowed! I hate to admit it but I was happy to see the snow! (shhhh...snow is a bad word to some!) The girls were on Christmas break and really wanted to play in the snow..their wish came true that weekend!

The bottom photo of my youngest was actually taken today! I wanted to document her new smile, as she lost three teeth over the Christmas break. The third one she lost that Sunday, so it felt right to include that photo on this week. I often do that. I am not strict about what photos go where, just as long as the story gets documented.

I won't always find time to blog, so if you really want to see the latest and greatest from me, hop over to my Sheri Mae Designs facebook page and click the Like button! :)

good bye digital project life creative team

For the past three years I have been very fortunate to be part of the Project Life family in one way or another. It has been a dream come true. Thank you Becky, Laurie and Kari for believing in me! I have loved every minute of this journey. Thank you to all the other amazing digital scrapbook creative team members...I have truly enjoyed being on this journey with you! Thank you for all the memories!

Here are a few layouts I completed during the last month as a Digital Project Life Creative Team Member.

The Dazzle mini kit was perfect to document my youngest daughter's Frozen themed birthday party.
And the Playful edition is so much fun!! Lots of cute designs and lots of colour!

It was always a great day when one of my layouts was selected to feature on the Digital Project Life page. This was the last one that was featured using the Aqua Edition kit, which just so happened to be designed by my friend, Crystal Wilkerson. Back in the day, it was Crystal who asked me to join her creative team when she was at Two Peas in a Bucket. It was my first creative team. Who knew it would be the start of something so amazing for me!

And for those who follow along here on the blog and my facebook page...thanks! It truly means a lot :)

Not sure what 2015 has in store for me. I do plan to continue doing Project Life. For now, I am focusing on finishing up 2014 in preparation for printing my book.

project life 2014 | weeks 30 - 39

I have been a bad blogger! I love reading other people's blogs, but mine has suffered and will likely continue to suffer, as I don't find the time to update it. Or maybe it's more that I don't feel I have much to share!

I am still going strong with Project Life, that will never change! I have been posting my weekly layouts to my facebook page on a regular basis. That's where you'll find details on what Project Life kits I used.

Here's weeks 30-39, minus week 32, as it's the week we had vacation and I still haven't figured out how I am going to include all the photos! I'll be sure to figure it out before I print my book though! :)

prjoject life 2014 | weeks 25 - 29

Wow! I had no idea it had been so long since I posted anything here! For those who keep coming to check out if I have anything new, thanks and sorry! I have been considering stopping my blog, but part of me can't give up quite yet! Who knows, maybe with the fall weather and spending more time indoors I will find some time to blog more!

Today I am stopping by quickly to share a bunch of Project Life layouts. I posted most of these over the summer on my facebook page.

digital project life | my baby through the years

If you're a Mom, there is no doubt that you have a lot of pictures of your kids! Sometimes so many that you're not sure what to do with all of them! I know I struggle with this. I have two girls and right now feeling very behind in documenting their childhood. I've done an amazing job according to most of my friends who don't scrapbook, but for me, I sometimes feel like I'll never have all the stories told. And you know what, that's okay! I can only do my best :)

One way that I can do my best is by using Project Life products! What simpler way is there? I love that I can put these layouts together in matter of minutes and call it done! For me, this style of scrapbooking has changed the way I document memories. No longer am I spending countless hours deciding on what paper best coordinates with my photos! That goes back to my days of paper scrapbooking when I would go to the store with my printed photos and painstakingly try to find just the right combination of papers! Going digital helped a lot with that, but I still spent too much time with that part of the process. With Project Life products, I don't find I do that. Maybe a little bit, but not nearly as much.

The best part about these amazing products is I can go back and put together layouts from previous years. So if you haven't done anything remotely close to documenting your child's memories, you can so easily with Project Life!

For this layout, I used the Stampin' Up! Little Moments edition, along with template N.

Jump ahead a few months and this is my same little baby girl whose feet were oh so tiny in that first layout. Here she's 8 months old. Now she's 5 years old and gosh I do miss that little baby face!

For this layout I used the Stampin' Up! Everyday Adventure edition and template P.

And then jump ahead a few years and this is my sweet baby girl at 30 months. Such a sweetie pie.

For this layout I used the Coral edition and Girl theme pack and template U.

project life 2014 | week 20 | super cute value pack

Some weekly layouts come together better than others. Sometimes it's because of the photos and stories I want to share and sometimes it's because I have a new Project Life kit.

Week 20 was a week where not only did I have great photos to work with, I also had a new kit to play with!! The Super Cute Value Pack is amazing! Love it!! :) Get it now for 20% off!!!
