prjoject life 2014 | weeks 25 - 29

Wow! I had no idea it had been so long since I posted anything here! For those who keep coming to check out if I have anything new, thanks and sorry! I have been considering stopping my blog, but part of me can't give up quite yet! Who knows, maybe with the fall weather and spending more time indoors I will find some time to blog more!

Today I am stopping by quickly to share a bunch of Project Life layouts. I posted most of these over the summer on my facebook page.

digital project life | my baby through the years

If you're a Mom, there is no doubt that you have a lot of pictures of your kids! Sometimes so many that you're not sure what to do with all of them! I know I struggle with this. I have two girls and right now feeling very behind in documenting their childhood. I've done an amazing job according to most of my friends who don't scrapbook, but for me, I sometimes feel like I'll never have all the stories told. And you know what, that's okay! I can only do my best :)

One way that I can do my best is by using Project Life products! What simpler way is there? I love that I can put these layouts together in matter of minutes and call it done! For me, this style of scrapbooking has changed the way I document memories. No longer am I spending countless hours deciding on what paper best coordinates with my photos! That goes back to my days of paper scrapbooking when I would go to the store with my printed photos and painstakingly try to find just the right combination of papers! Going digital helped a lot with that, but I still spent too much time with that part of the process. With Project Life products, I don't find I do that. Maybe a little bit, but not nearly as much.

The best part about these amazing products is I can go back and put together layouts from previous years. So if you haven't done anything remotely close to documenting your child's memories, you can so easily with Project Life!

For this layout, I used the Stampin' Up! Little Moments edition, along with template N.

Jump ahead a few months and this is my same little baby girl whose feet were oh so tiny in that first layout. Here she's 8 months old. Now she's 5 years old and gosh I do miss that little baby face!

For this layout I used the Stampin' Up! Everyday Adventure edition and template P.

And then jump ahead a few years and this is my sweet baby girl at 30 months. Such a sweetie pie.

For this layout I used the Coral edition and Girl theme pack and template U.

project life 2014 | week 20 | super cute value pack

Some weekly layouts come together better than others. Sometimes it's because of the photos and stories I want to share and sometimes it's because I have a new Project Life kit.

Week 20 was a week where not only did I have great photos to work with, I also had a new kit to play with!! The Super Cute Value Pack is amazing! Love it!! :) Get it now for 20% off!!!

project life 2014 | weeks 16 - 19

I am so thankful for this project! I may not be as up-to-date with my girl's albums as I want to be and that's okay, because I have so many memories captured in my weekly layouts!

I find bits and pieces of time throughout the week and larger chunks of time on the weekends to put these layouts together. My saving grace is the draft email I have at work. I add to it each day and then the following Monday, I email it home. It then goes into a folder in my inbox to reference when I work on my layouts. For me, this is what works. I don't carry a notepad around, nor do I like typing notes on my iPhone (although, I did just get the Day One app for FREE, so that might change! lol). The best part for me is I can copy the text directly from that email into my layout and I am done! I sometimes add more context around the story, but for the most part whatever I wrote in the email becomes my journaling for that weekly layout.

week sixteen | strawberry edition

week seventeen | day dreamer and mayfield

week eighteen | girl theme pack

week nineteen | stampin' up! playground edition

thank you two peas in a bucket

Like many other scrapbookers out there, I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Two Peas in a Bucket closing. This is how my profile page looks right now. It's sad to think that in a few weeks it'll be gone, along with the hundreds of layouts I've posted and the many message board posts I've written. Very sad to see this site go.

I joined in 2002. I was fairly new to scrapbooking at the time. I am not even sure how I stumbled on the website. I either did a search on scrapbooking or I possibly saw the name in a magazine. All I know is that ever since I found it, I have felt apart of a community.

In the early years I spent countless hours browsing the galleries. I was in awe of everyone. I had only just started paper scrapbooking a few years prior and didn't really feel like I was in the same category as soon of the ladies who were posting. I just remember feeling so inspired by everything I was seeing! Once I started posting my layouts and receiving feedback, I was hooked.

It was at 2Peas that I saw my first digital layouts! I loved it and wanted to know how I could do it too! Everyone on the message boards were so helpful.

In the spring of 2009, I was happily posting layouts and doing my thing when I was asked to be a Garden Girl. To be honest, I really didn't know much about the Garden Girls. I always thought it was for the elite scrapbookers and there was no way that little old me would ever get to that status!!!

I am so thankful to those who recommended me and to 2Peas for allowing me such an amazing opportunity! It was only for a short time, but it was truly a life changing experience that I will always remember!! The layouts with the grey border around them are just some of the layouts I created while a Garden Girl.

When I was a Garden Girl, I found these cute t-shirts at Old Navy for my girls. The shirt says, "Mom's lil Garden Girl". How perfect are these shirts and of course these cute little girls!! I snap a few pictures of them in their shirts and created this layout! I still have these t-shirts!

While browsing the board the other day, I thought it would be fun to pull up my most liked and most viewed layouts.

Here's my MOST LIKED chosen by other 2Peas :)

My MOST VIEWED layout with 1106 views....

Thank you Two Peas for all the wonderful inspiration, the opportunity to be apart of something so amazing and for being a home to everyone, whether you were a paper scrapbooker, photographer or digi welcomed all of us with open arms and allowed us to share our passion for preserving memories!!

Crystal Wilkerson's digital templates - a review + a coupon

I am so happy to be sharing these awesome 12×12 digital templates that my friend, Crystal Wilkerson has created.

In a lot of ways, Crystal is the reason that some of the amazing opportunities in the digital scrapbooking world have come my way.

Crystal was the first designer to ask me to be on their creative team. I was happily doing my thing back in 2009 and posting my layouts at Two Peas when I got an email from Crystal. At the time, I had no idea what being on a creative team even meant! A few months later, I was asked to be a Garden Girl at Two Peas in a Bucket. Wow, what an honour. And if I am being honest, at the time, I really wasn't sure what a Garden Girl was! It didn't take me long to realize it was a big deal!! From there, things just took off.

So when Crystal asked me to review her latest templates, of course I said YES!!!!

I love Crystal's designs and have missed her in the world of digital over the last little while. I was very happy to see her designing again!! And what better way for her to come back than with some amazing templates!!! I love templates. I don't think I ever create without one!! They make it so easy! And Crystal's templates are just that, simple, yet very versatile.

There are 8 separate template packs and they all come with 4 templates.  Each template comes with two options: 1) With preset layer styles (shadow/shading & stitching) that you can adjust to your liking,  and 2) With no layer styles.  Templates are in .PSD format.

Here's just a few of my favourite things about these templates.
  • I LOVE the stitching element on each template, but if that's not for you, there is an option without!
  • I also liked the shading. It gives my photos that extra contrast that I don't always think to add, but I love.
  • And I loved how everything was sized down and I could add a background paper behind the white...this is probably one of the biggest time savers for me, as I really like this look on my layouts!!

Here are some of the layouts I created using Crystal's templates:

From Template Pack # 4:

From Template Pack #1:

From Template Pack #5

Here are some layouts that Crystal created with these same templates when she did a layout a day in May. You can see them up close on Crystal's blog.

If you want to purchase these awesome templates, use coupon code: CWTEMP50 at her store HERE  and save 50% This coupon is only good until Sunday, June 22, 2014.

If you're doing Project Life, these would be a great addition to your album!! I know I'll be incorporating them into mine!!

Thanks Crystal for letting me play with these amazing templates!!!
